The National Council of Negro Women, Inc. (NCNW) is a coalition of thirty-eight (38) national organizations with an outreach to over four million women throughout the United States. Since its founding in 1935, NCNW has played a vital role in the development and utilization of the leadership of women in our community, national, and international life.

The mission of the National Council of Negro Women, Inc. (NCNW) is to lead, develop, and advocate for women of African descent and all women of color as they support their families and communities.
NCNW works to ensure access to and full participation in the socio-economic and political systems which impact the quality of life for all women.
NCNW builds a common fellowship for women devoted to the task of creative and positive relationships among women nationally and abroad.

Our History
The National council of Negro Women Inc. (NCNW) is a nonprofit membership organization founded in 1935 by Mary McLeod Bethune, a child of slave parents, distinguished educator and government consultant. With a mission to lead, develop and advocate for women of African descent as they support their families and communities.
NCNW addresses issues of human welfare and rights through public education, personal education, community service and advocacy.

The Denver Section of the National Council of Negro Women, Inc. meets every 3rd Saturday of the month from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. via virtual meetings.

The NCNW Denver Section is excited to inform you and to extend an invitation to join us for our 2020 Living Portraits of African American Women Online Event on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 3:00 pm MT (Facebook Live and YouTube).
The program honors African American Women and youth who have made outstanding contributions in their various disciplines.
This is also a fundraiser for the NCNW Denver Section with a portion of the proceeds going to support Whiz Kids Tutoring (online tutoring) and the Colorado Council of Black Nurses (COVID-19 Relief providing PPE). These two groups are in accordance with our initiatives in the areas of education and health.
